Item 2368 £495
An attractive and decorative mid-19th century period American papier mache cased wall clock. The drop-dial case is black lacquered and decorated with Mother-o-Pearl inlay and painted with gilded flowers and garlands in a "Folksy" style. The one week duration movement strikes the hours on a bell, has a visible swinging pendulum, a 12 inch diameter dial with Roman numerals and blued steel "Malteses Cross" hands. Ideal clock for a country kitchen.

A classic late 19th century period English wall dial (School or Railway) clock made around 1880. The "mahogany" case of traditional form with a pegged on "salt-box", lower pendulum rating trap door, and a spun brass bezel. The 10" diameter white painted dial has black Roman numerals and blued steel spade hands. The "eight-day" movement by W&H (Winterhalder & Hoffmier) with anchor escapement. An excellent example of type to suit a country house kitchen or hall way. Sold fully restored and warranted in our own on-premises work shop.

A mid-19th century period English "drop-dial" fusee wall clock, by W.Tracy of Morriston c1860. The mahogany case with drop box, and well carved wings depicting summer fruits to the case sides. The 10" diameter dial has black Roman numerals and blued hands, and the glass is retained in a brass spun bezel. The single fusee movement has shaped plates and is mounted to a cast iron dial bracket. A small and attractive English "drop-dial" clock to suit a country house kitchen or hall way. Sold fully restored and warranted in our own on-site horological workshop.

A classic English made, 19th century period, mahogany cased fusee wall dial clock, railway type clock, office clock, kitchen clock, by Atkins of Arundel (West Sussex). George Atkins is a listed maker and shown as died in 1878. This example with a white painted,12" diameter dial, having Roman numerals and blued steel hands. The substantial chain driven fusee movement, of "eight day" duration has a plain anchor escapement. These clock types were used extensively on the railways, in offices and factories, and in country house kitchens or sculleries, in fact anywhere there was a need for a public clock.Sold fully restored and guaranteed.

A classic mid-19th century, mahogany cased, English fusee' wall dial clock in particularly fine condition. The white painted 12" diameter dial, named Morrison of Derby No.8736, with black Roman numerals and blued steel spade hands. The glass retained in cast brass bezel, and the mahogany case of traditional form with a pegged "salt-box" and a lower locking pendulum rating trap door. The "eight-day" movement with anchor escapement and line drive fusee'. A high quality and collectable wall clock, and an excellent example of type. Sold fully restored and warranted, in our own on-site workshop. Ideal companion for a country house traditional kitchen.
 
Item 2663 Vienna Regulator Clock £1100
A classic, elegant, and particularly fine quality mid-19th century period, walnut cased, eight-day "Vienna" regulator wall clock. The weight driven movement, wound with a small winding handle, has a white enamelled dial with black Roman numerals, and pierced and fretted blued steel hands. The large brass pendulum bob with an ebonised wooden rod for temperature stability. The walnut case has "book-matched" veneers to the case back, a moulded top and turned wooden finials. A fine example to grace a hall or living room. Sold fully restored in our own on site workshop, with a two year warranty. A classic, high quality English made, 19th century oak cased, fusee' wall dial clock, railway clock, office or factory clock, by Rowell of Oxford, a listed maker shown as working 1790-1813. This fine example dating from c1875, with a "honey" oak case and pegged salt box. The 12" diameter painted dial has Roman numerals and blued steel spade hands. The single fusee' chain driven "eight day " movement with plain anchor escapement, of solid construction and high quality. These clocks were used extensively as public, or railway clocks, or in grand country house kitchens and sculleries. Sold fully restored and guaranteed. This clock would suit a contemporary kitchen, or hall way.
 
Item 2662X Post Office Wall Clock £1250
A particularly fine quality English, solid mahogany cased, ex-GPO (General Post Office) fusee' wall dial clock made in the reign of King George VI, and with excellent provenance. Made by Short Mason & CO. this Post Office clock comes with a letter stating it was removed from Angmering Village Post Office (West Sussex) on the 14th of July 1967, when it was replaced with an electric clock. The "eight-day" chain driven fusee movement, is stamped GRVI (King George VI)with the Royal Crown and dated 1939. (SM).The fine high quality solid mahogany case with a traditional pegged salt-box, and hand made Dove tail joints. The 12 inch diameter white painted dial has black Roman numerals, blued steel spade hands, and bears the Royal Crown and sypher of King George VI. A highly collectable and good example of type, to grace a country kitchen or country house hall. A classic and fine quality, early 19th century (King William IV period) English fusee, convex dial, mahogany cased, "Drop-dial" wall clock by Jacob Moseley of Neath. A listed maker and shown as working 1830-52. The flame grain mahogany pendulum box, with a lower pendulum rating trap door, and side pendulum hanging trap-door. The convex, white painted, 12 inch diameter dial, has black Roman numerals,and is covered by a convex glass, retained in a cast brass bezel. The dial bears the makers name and has fine quality blued steel "Trefoil" hands. The single fusee' "eight-day" brass movement has shaped plates and ringed pillars. A rare, and highly collectable example of type, to grace a country kitchen, hall or living room. Sold fully restored in our on-site workshop, with a full two year warranty. Item 2405 £3100
A very rare and collectable late 18th century period English "Tavern" or "Norfolk Chisel Case" wall clock. The fine quality mahogany case has a long beaded locking trunk door, heavy concave cast brass bezel with working bezel lock, and flat glass. The fourteen inch diameter silvered brass, flat dial has engraved wax filled black Roman numerals, and blued steel counter balanced hands.The time-piece movement is weight driven with a long pendulum and crank winding key. These clocks are a direct derivative of the "Act of Parliament" clocks and designed for use as large easily read public clocks in prominent positions. Possibly in Coaching Inns. A fine and collectable example. Five feet long case.
