The case (standing some 16 inches tall) in 18th century style with an inverted bell top, brass carrying handle, pineaple finials and brass bracket feet. The brass break arch dial of traditional form with a silvered and engraved chapter ring, silvered and engraved "Tempus Fugit" roundrel to the dial arch, and cast gilded brass spandrels to the dial corners.
